Since joining TBC Bank in 2020, entrepreneur Jemal Tsetskhladze has expanded his blueberry farming business significantly. Initially employing only two people, his business now has ten permanent staff and hires over 100 people seasonally.

A decade ago, Jemal purchased 30 hectares of agricultural land. After several unsuccessful attempts at growing different crops, he found blueberries to be suited to the soil’s high acidity. Using a combination of state grants, personal finances, and bank loans, he gradually established blueberry orchards across 25 hectares of his land.

To enhance efficiency, Jemal invested in modern agricultural equipment and set up refrigerating chambers that meet European standards. Currently, his farm produces and processes up to 60 tons of high-quality blueberries. However, he anticipates that the yield could increase to between 150-200 tons during the peak ripening phase in the next 2-3 years.

Jemal’s blueberry farm is a testament to his hard work, providing significant employment opportunities within his community and contributing to the local economy.
