My name is Maria Isabel Rico from Villa Nueva, Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I am the proud owner of a small corner store where I sell many different products to local customers. I also run a room rental business to complement my revenues. A few years ago, I became aware that microfinance could help me improve my businesses. Hence, I went to Banco Popular, a Honduran microfinance institution, to obtain a first loan to diversify the product offering of my store in order to better serve my customers. Three loan cycles later, I have improved my businesses and my living conditions, both of which I intend to continue improving in the future.
