The #BOFaces series introduces you to the people making up BlueOrchard’s dedicated team, which is spread across our offices around the world. This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Nini Rekhviashvili, Senior Investment Officer, based in the Tbilisi office.

We took this opportunity to learn more about Nini’s passions besides BlueOrchard, her favorite ways to unwind and the best advice she’s ever been given.

Nini, what do you like most about BlueOrchard?

Even though I recently joined BlueOrchard, it’s impossible not to feel the passion that unites and empowers people here and that’s what I like most – a passion driving each individual to create a real-time lasting positive impact for communities and the environment.

Why did you join BlueOrchard?

Joining BlueOrchard was an excellent opportunity to explore developing countries and make the best use of my knowledge by making small contributions towards a better world.

What is the first thing you do when you start your day?

Press “Play” on my happy morning playlist – music has a mood-boosting power that makes me want to enjoy the day, no matter how challenging it is.

 What motivates you?

Meeting with people who have “Growth mindset” – simply put, I’m inspired whenever I see a person who strives to make even the smallest thing better and does so with his or her whole heart.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

The secret of Rule # 6 – “Don’t take yourself so g-damn seriously.” The story is taken from the book ‘’Art of Possibility’’ co-authored by Rosamund and Benjamin Zander. This wonderful rule pops up in so many parts of our life and helps us become creative, happy and open-minded. So, if we give ourselves permission to fail, to seek and accept feedback, not to be perfect because we don’t take ourselves so seriously, we’re not that attached to the outcome. Then we can be more productive and create more inspiring products, businesses, services, etc. You can watch Ben’s explanation by clicking on the following link: Benjamin Zander Rule No. 6 – YouTube.

What is your passion besides BlueOrchard?

I love travelling, cooking, designing – all these are connected for me with creativity and exploration.

What is your favorite way to unwind?

Spending quality time with my family and friends. And the best way for me to restart is through visiting my countryside Racha in western Georgia – a starting point for me to explore the world with childlike curiosity.

Thank you Nini!
