This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Edoardo Toscano, Investment Officer, based in Peru.

  • Edo, what excites you most about the work you do?

What excites me most is the continuous learning and the opportunity to experience first-hand the impact of BlueOrchard’s work.

  • What brought you to BlueOrchard, and what has kept you here?

While studying finance, I realized I wanted a career that combined my academic background with the social and development work I was doing in my free time. That is how I discovered impact investing. During a research project between my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, a teammate mentioned BlueOrchard as a leader in the field. I applied for an internship that summer but was not selected, so I tried again the following year and years later, I am still here!

  • Who or what has influenced your professional journey the most so far?

Hearing senior colleagues talk about the paths they took and the opportunities they embraced inspired my recent move to Lima. It reminded me of the value of staying curious and being open to new experiences.

  • What three words would you use to describe the culture at BlueOrchard?

Purpose-driven, entrepreneurial, inclusive.

Thank you, Edo!
