The #BOFaces series introduces you to the people making up BlueOrchard’s dedicated team, which is spread across our offices around the world. This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Chloe Fu, Research Associate in the Private Debt Investment Team, based in the Singapore office. Continue reading if you want to know why Chloe decided to work in impact investing, what she enjoys most at BlueOrchard, and how she makes an impact in her private life.

Chloe, why did you decide to work in impact investing?

I started in impact investing to do purposeful work at scale and explore this unique intersection of finance and impact. In particular, I joined BlueOrchard because the company is proactive in progressing the financial inclusion and sustainability agenda in the impact investing field, and I wanted to be a part of an organisation with global reach.

What do you enjoy most about working at BlueOrchard?

Hands down the people. I’m thankful to be steeped in an environment where team members are selfless in sharing knowledge, and also so diverse and dynamic. I’m always learning something new – be it about other colleague’s culture, interests, work function, or markets they cover.

Lastly, how to you make an impact in your private life?

Through small decisions on the daily. I try to not buy any new clothes unless necessary, or by choosing more environmentally friendly foods. My colleagues motivate me daily, and I know that if I want to live in a world I like, I have to help create it.

Thank you, Chloe!
