This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Anna Magi, Portfolio Manager, based in Switzerland.

  • Anna, what does “impact” mean to you on a personal level?

For me, impact is the trace of kindness and care we leave on people, objects, and the environments around us with our everyday actions, offering a helping hand to those in need, repairing things instead of constantly buying new ones, and supporting local craftsmanship.”

  • If you could describe your experience at BlueOrchard in three words, what would they be?

Passion, hard work and fun.”

  • What new skill or knowledge have you gained since joining BlueOrchard?

Since joining BlueOrchard, I’ve deepened my knowledge of emerging markets and macroeconomic drivers, and, importantly, how to translate those insights into portfolio construction and risk management. The Public Debt team’s work spans a wide range of markets and themes: one day I might focus on African frontier markets, Asian renewables, or Turkish political dynamics; the next I could be adjusting portfolio duration to a changing interest rate environment.”

  • For me growth means…

Growth is the discipline of taking a small step every day to become a better version of yourself.

  • What have you recently read, heard, or watched (podcast, book, film, etc.) that has deeply inspired you?

I recently attended an event at the Zurich Opera House about the process of launching a new interpretation of the Romeo and Juliet ballet. I found it inspiring to see how choreographers, conductors, designers, dancers, and musicians collaborate to create something so big and complex, while still expressing each person’s artistry.”

Thank you, Anna!
