This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Alexander Maisuradze, Senior Investment Officer, based in Georgia.

  • Alexander, what do you like most about working at BlueOrchard?

What I like most about working at BlueOrchard is the unique combination of professional challenge and meaningful impact. I have the opportunity to work on diverse and complex investment projects that contribute to sustainable development and financial inclusion. The organization’s strong commitment to responsible investing resonates deeply with my values.

  • What does “impact” mean to you on a personal level?

“On a personal level, “impact” begins with striving to be a well-rounded and principled individual, caring for the environment, and making a positive difference in the lives of those around me.

  • Who inspires you the most, and why?

This question is not easy for me to answer, as I have been inspired by many people throughout my professional and personal life. At this stage in my career, I am particularly inspired by several of the world’s leading investors (aka “super-investors”). Their wisdom, patience, and foresight are truly remarkable. The breadth and depth of their knowledge, as well as their ability to consistently engage in “second-level thinking,” is a constant source of inspiration for me.

  • What new skill or knowledge have you gained since joining BlueOrchard?

Since joining BlueOrchard, I have further expanded my understanding of financial systems in different countries and gained valuable insights into cross-border investments. I have also developed skills in establishing and nurturing business relationships with a wide range of counterparties – a process that I greatly appreciate being a part of.

  • What are you passionate about besides your work at BlueOrchard?

“I enjoy reading both financial and non-financial literature, as well as listening to related podcasts. I also take pleasure in various sports activities, including basketball and padel.

Thank you, Alexander!
