Have you ever wondered who the people behind BlueOrchard are? As part of our #BOFaces series, we are happy to introduce Michelle Carrasco, Office Manager in our Lima office. We have interviewed Michelle to better understand what drives her and why she enjoys working in the impact investing industry.

Michelle, why did you decide to work in the impact investing industry?

Because just as it is important that our personal actions generate a positive change in the world, so is the professional field.

Why did you join BlueOrchard?

The social impact it generates.

What motivates you?

Hope. I have been part of some groups of vegan activism in Peru and I have looked closely at indifference, mockery or rejection of this ethical stance, but also the other side of the coin, people who want a change and be part of it.

How do you make an impact in your private life?

I have volunteered in homes of unprotected children, in public hospitals and participate in vegan activist groups trying to make my actions and decisions positively contribute and affect others as much as possible.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Always be consistent.

What is the biggest global challenge in your view?

Everyone wants to see a change, but the challenge is to change oneself.

Thank you, Michelle!
