BlueOrchard Financial Inclusion Fund (BOFIF)

Financial Inclusion
  • Gain access to fast, profitable growth
  • Focusing on finance, insurance, and technology
  • Supporting the SDGs

Our investment goals and strategy

The fund focuses on private equity investments that increase financial inclusion in emerging and frontier markets. It gives access to investments that are noted for fast, profitable growth, but are not normally accessible through public markets.

The three main target sectors include finance, microinsurance, and technology. While companies in these areas tend to be fast-growing and diversified, they don’t often have access to funding, so our support boosts them and their local ecosystems.

Sustainable development

We work with our portfolio companies to help them make measurable contributions to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Target setting means we can track and show progress throughout the duration of the fund.

Impact private equity

The case for financial inclusion

Financial inclusion – the access to affordable and relevant financial services – is a critical lever for the empowerment and resilience of individuals and businesses. While yielding powerful impact, financial inclusion is also providing strong growth opportunities for companies active in the field. By providing the capital needed for their growth, private equity offers excellent access to these predominantly unlisted companies — offering true double impact.
