Ahmo: 2 tons of honey per year
Following in the footsteps of his father, Ahmo is a beekeeper in Bosnia Herzegovina. He learned how to care for the bees and extract the honey as a young boy. With loans from the local MFI, he has bought 80 bee colonies and hives and now produces two tons of honey per year, nearly 4 times more than before. With the additional income, he has been able to install better heaters in his house and save some money he plans to use for his three grandchildren’s studies.
